June 2021 - Dance + Film Techniques Class

(2020) Embrace change. Embrace distance. Embrace creativity. Embrace one another. As a part of Brighton Dance Festival, Katie Phelan taught a Screendance workshop. Originally planned for an in-person festival, BDF was transitioned to an online modality due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Through the workshop, the dancers built movement and footage for a ScreenDance film; communicating solely through Zoom and using personal devices to film.

(2020) A Screendance workshop held at Indy Dance Academy explored the negative space of the body and movement through the perspective of the camera. This workshop was offered during the 2020 Pandemic and adhered to social distancing protocols.
